Hello–first time to visit your blog.
How do you regard the thought that there is a gap between verses 1 and 2 of Genesis 1?

I never knew that Kodak was there at the very beginning. That picture captures the sense of the chaos exceptionally well.

Yasher Koach.
I note that a more conventional translation of this text reads:
“In the beginning God created heaven and earth.
The earth was without form and empty, with darkness on the face of the depths, but God’s spirit moved on the water’s surface.”
However, in encountering this text this time around I wonder if this text is most accurate? Wouldn’t a better read be “In A Beginning” — as the Hebrew clearly utilizes the indefinte article in “B’reishet” as opposed to Bahresheit….the implication here, at least for me, is that creation can begin again and again … and the beat goes on….Shavuah Tov

I agree with Brad. I like to think of it as “At the beginning”. Creation is an evolving process and we are God’s partners in that process.
